Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a 2012 Bollywood film directed by Yash Chopra.  Music has been composed by A.R. Rahman and the film stars Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in leading roles.

The story is about a rigid Major Samar Anand (Shah Rukh Khan) who heads the Bomb Defusing Squad (B.D.S.) and is on the verge of diffusing the ninety-eighth bomb of his career. His time and life is captured as a story by an aspiring documentary filmmaker Akira Rai (Anushka Sharma), a 21-year old vivacious girl who is striving hard to get a job at Discovery Channel. Accidentally, a hand written diary by Samar falls in the hands of Akira who learns about the hidden part of Samar's past life.

His past: Meera (Katrina Kaif) a God fearing girl who believes that she will meet her prince someday, falls for street musician Samar and develops deep feelings for him which are mutual. But fate takes an ugly turn when they get separated in an unfortunate turn out. On the flip side Samar fails to recognize Akira's love despite of her outward confession.
