Singham is an upcoming action film directed by Rohit Shetty starring Ajay Devgn and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the successful 2010 Tamil film of the same name directed by Hari and featuring Suriya in the lead role. Theatrical trailer of the film was released along with Salman Khan's Ready on June 3, 2011.

Prakash Raj, who played the antogonist in the original film, was signed on to reprise his role, whilst reports emerged that Asin and Anushka Shetty were being considered for the female lead role. Anushka later declined the offer and was subsequently replaced by Kajal Aggarwal, another actress who had predominantly featured in South Indian films in her career.

The first schedule began in early March 2011 with action sequences shot in Goa featuring technicians from South India. The film is set to release on 22nd of July, 2011.
