Highly celebrated filmmaker Karan Johar has been working on his anticipated film 'Student of the Year' for quite some months now. The film which is touted to be a youthful romantic comedy was slated for an October release, but the date was not confirmed.

Karan gave a treat to his fans by proudly announcing the release date as October 19, with a teaser poster on his microblogging page recently. 

The posted picture has the protagonists sitting on a bench wearing jerseys with the release date smartly placed through it. The lead roles of Rohan, Shanaya and Abhimanyu are played by new comers Siddharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan respectively.

Directed by Karan Johar, the film is co-produced by his best friend Shah Rukh Khan who might do a special appearance in the film.
