Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell' better known as 'Dominic purcell' is a British-born Australian actor best known for his role as Lincoln Burrows in 'Prison Break', the title character in 'John Doe', and Dracula in 'Blade: Trinity'.
At the age of 2, Dominic and his family moved from England to Sydney's Bondi and later moved to the Western Suburbs. Purcell's mother is Irish and his father is Norwegian. They currently reside in Louth Ireland with the rest of his extended family.
He attended Blaxland East Public School in his elementary school years and went to St Dominic's College, Penrith and McCarthy Catholic College for high school. After becoming a landscape gardener, he was soon tired of the profession and whilst watching the war movie Platoon, he decided to become an actor.
Due to his working class background, acting seemed a very unlikely choice of career, so he didn't pursue it until sometime later. He studied at the Australian Theatre for Young People and then later enrolled at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts where he met his future wife Rebecca and studied with Hugh Jackman. He went on to become a series regular on the TV show 'Prison Break'. He has been cast as the character of Quinn, the were-Tiger for the upcoming season of HBO's True Blood.
